WHO/WHAT IS FAMILIES FORWARD

Families Forward is a “grass roots” type of group, facilitated by Gateway Association for Community Living.  This group consists of families who support a loved one with a disability.  These family members share their knowledge, resources, and experience with one another in an informal setting.  Families come to this group to support each other and offer mentorship on issues related to disability and their loved one.   At times the group may decide to put their efforts into various projects having to do with enhancing the lives of those living with a disability.  A good example of this is the website you’re on right now!

MISSION/VISION

Vision:  We’ll Come together, share together, work together, and succeed together.
Mission:   A group made up of families who come together to support each other in enhancing the lives of their family member with a disability, as well as, enhancing their own lives.

MEETINGS

Families Forward generally meets on a bi-monthly basis however because the group is steered by the group itself meeting dates and times do change.  See the Events calendar on the bottom of this website for information on the next meeting.   

PROJECTS

Members of Families Forward will work towards a particular effort at times.  This could include projects on the subject of advocacy, awareness , or resources and connections. 

Currently Families Forward is working on improving accessibility of available resources for families and connections between families.  This website is the current project of Families Forward.
