Being a mentor doesn’t mean you are an expert or have to be an expert on a particular topic it only means you have some information or have been through or dealt with a particular issue or topic before. 

To be a mentor you only need to be available to return e-mails in a timely manner and answer any  questions you can, offer ideas, suggestions or resources to someone needing help.
