For many people with disabilities, staff are needed to provide them with the opportunities for meaningful, self-directed lives.  When there is ongoing staff turnover and lack of staff continuity it is difficult to maintain this and families can often find themselves in crisis.  Finding commited, qualified staff to assist people with disabilities has been a challenge for families using Family Managed Support.  Wages are often too low to hire and retain staff.  Famiies often need to look for other incentives for keeping staff committed and stable.  Other families who have found ways to retain there staff using such incentives are a valuable resource.  You will find some of these mentors under People Power!
